The source

Countries compares the world country by country, year by year, from the World Bank's Data360 catalog. New workspaces start with it connected.

Coverage

  • Thousands of indicators, such as population, GDP, life expectancy and CO₂
  • Every country, plus regional and income groups such as the European Union and low-income countries
  • Rankings for one year, and change between two years
  • Splits by sex or age where an indicator has them

Years and countries covered vary by indicator. Indicator names can't be guessed, so a search comes first. One empty answer doesn't prove a country has no data.

Freshness

Most indicators update once a year. A ranking with no year uses the latest year most countries have reported. Vistazo holds a copy for up to a day.
