What are your allowances?

Each member of a workspace has two monthly allowances, one for inference and one for compute. Both are on the Usage card under Settings → Usage, each as a percentage used, such as "42% used". Both reset each month on the day the workspace was created, and the card shows the date. Some workspaces are set up with larger allowances or none, and the card always shows the ones that apply to you (Plans).

What counts as inference?

Inference is anything that calls a model. The Usage card breaks it down into four groups.

Group What counts
Dashboards Building and repairing charts, and background dashboard upkeep
Notebooks Naming and describing the notebooks your workspace writes
Chats Conversations with the built-in assistant in the home chat and the dashboard, notebook and skill panels, the files you attach, and web lookups
Skills Naming and describing the skills your workspace writes

A chart is repaired when its source starts returning data of a different shape. An admin can turn repair off with Repair broken charts with AI, under Settings → Assistant → Dashboards. A chart that would have been repaired then keeps its last data and is marked stale until someone updates it.

Your agent's own model calls never count. When you work in Vistazo from an agent such as Claude, Codex or Cursor, the agent does its thinking on its own plan.

What counts as compute?

Compute is code Vistazo runs for you, which today means running notebook cells. A run counts the same whoever starts it, whether that is you in the app, the built-in assistant, your agent or a schedule.

No one person can run notebooks for more than 8 hours in a 24-hour window, across all their workspaces. The window opens with your first run, and reaching the limit pauses your notebook runs until it closes.

What costs nothing?

Every dashboard refresh is free, whether you press Refresh, a schedule runs it or your agent asks for it. Changing a filter, exploring a dashboard and your agent calling data tools are free too. None of these count toward either allowance.

Their only limits are hourly. In the app, one person can run 300 refreshes and filtered views an hour. Each MCP connection gets its own 300 data fetches an hour. Past either figure, the next one waits until the hour is up.

What happens when an allowance runs out?

When one allowance runs out, only the work that draws on it pauses.

Allowance What pauses until it resets
Inference The built-in assistant, and repairs to broken charts
Compute Notebook runs

Your dashboards keep refreshing either way, and reading a published dashboard is unaffected.

Out of inference, the built-in assistant stops answering, in the home chat and in every panel. In the app, adding, moving, restyling and rewiring widgets all happen by asking the assistant, so they wait until the allowance resets or an admin adds a key. Your agent can still make those changes, because the dashboard tools it calls cost nothing.

When inference runs out, the Usage card offers Add a key. Your own API key keeps the assistant running on your provider account before the reset. A key does nothing for compute, because no model is involved.

Allowances belong to each person. One member running out slows nobody else down, and a new member can start work without anyone granting them anything.

How much can you own and store?

Limit
Dashboards and notebooks you own Unlimited
Storage 1 GB for each member

Storage counts the files you upload and the tables read from them. Data read from a connected source takes none. Manage, on the Storage row of the Usage card, lists your own files. Admins of a shared workspace see everyone's under Settings → Files.

How current are the figures?

Vistazo adds up spend once a minute, so the percentage on the card can trail your last action by about a minute. Limits are checked against the same figure, so a stop can land up to about a minute after the allowance is spent.
