Tools

Wikipedia pageviews — how much attention any topic on Earth gets, daily or monthly since July 2015, plus the most-read articles of any day.

Data from Wikimedia. See Wikipedia for coverage, freshness and credits.

Your agent reaches these on Vistazo's MCP server, https://mcp.vistazo.ai/mcp, through search_tools and call_tool, as wikipedia__<tool> — for example wikipedia__search_articles.

search_articles

Read-only · Reaches outside Vistazo

Find Wikipedia articles by phrase (e.g. "anthropic claude", "spanish flu") — returns {matches: [{title, description}]}, ranked. Call this FIRST: every other tool takes an exact article title, and guessing one returns zeros rather than an error.

pageviews

Read-only · Reaches outside Vistazo

Daily or monthly pageviews for one or more articles over a date range — one row per date with a column per article, chart-ready as a line. Public attention over time, back to 2015-07. Pass titles exactly as search_articles returns them. Use interval="monthly" for ranges over a year to keep charts readable; monthly rows are whole calendar months, so mid-month bounds widen to the 1st and the last day of the month, and coverage reports the days actually counted.

top_articles

Read-only · Reaches outside Vistazo

The most-viewed Wikipedia articles for a given day or month — a ranked leaderboard in articles ({date, rank, title, views}, not rows) that reshuffles daily. ONE day by default; for "the most read article per day" over a range, pass end_date and get one leaderboard per day, up to 31 days, every row carrying its own date. Navigation pages (Main_Page, Special:Search) are filtered out, so the list is real topics. Omit the date for the most recent complete day.
